Disapointing and bad customer service

Ok last night was the Dicken's of a Christmas downtown Spartanburg. Brent and I go every year and have always loved it, our favorite thing was the first baptist play. This time my brother in law went with us so that was a lot of fun, however the rest of the night was a downer. The festival was VERY poor this year. Usually there are carolers all over the streets singing christmas songs and dressed up, but I did not see a single caroling group. There were people dressed up but not carolers. Also in previous years there have been bands, orchestras, hand bells all throughout the streets but there were very few of thos, very few! and the biggest bummer of all was that First Baptist did not do their play!! I was sooo sad by that, that was my favorite thing!! however I did get to see a little of the nutcracker in the window which I have always wanted to see but somehow always miss it but I saw it this year. ok so that part of the night was a bummer. So we thought we would atleast try to salvage some of the night and stop at Krispy Kreme for some hot chocolate. ok well I go in and order a hot chocolate and go to use the restroom and they are disgusting. So I thought I would just mention it to one of the workers that the restrooms needed cleaning. The lady proceeded to tell me "Mam I have nothing to do with that." Uhhh hello you work there, I know someone back there has something to do with it and I was just informing her that someone needed to clean them, I wasn't saying she was the one who messed it up. ok so I let that go and we get the hot chocolate and it was NASTY! I mean I can handle drinking a hot chocolate that isn't the best, maybe a little watery, but this was beyond that I knew there was no way I could take another drink. So I decide to get my money back, I shouldn't have to pay for something that bad. Well the manager is trying to argue with me that it is supposed to taste that bad! and then she proceeded to call her employee that made it, names! I felt bad for her. very disapointed in their customer service and probably won't be going back there. I just went to bilo and bought a box of hot chocolate to make at home. so it was a bummer night, but I'll try again next year maybe Dicken's will be better next year. Oh I did get to listen to the girl at my church sing although I couldn't see her I wasn't tall enough, but her class sounded beautiful!

update to the last post

ok so I found another spot that says Be fruitful and Multiply. Genesis 35:11. This is when God changes Jacob's name to Israel. "God also said to him, 'I am God Almighty; Be fruitful and multiply...'" I didn't know about that one. it also does not say fill the earth. However I think God was still specifically talking to Israel although I am not positive I will have to search more. There are times when God is intending something specifically for Israel. We can get great teaching from the Old Testament but have to be careful and remember what is meant for Israel and what is meant for all. Which is why I focus more on the New Testament because Jesus specifically told us what to do, and the laws continued over from the Old Testament to the New Testament are meant for us. So I think if this were really meant to be in the New Covenant it would have been mentioned in the New Testament. but again remember this is my very slightly educated guess and I have to research more to decide for sure. :)

Be fruitful and multiply?

Ok so this is a topic a friend of mine brought up, and we disagree on it so I thought I would see whatever everyone else thought. She brought up the subject of having children and how she believes that if we get married we do not have a choice to have children or not that it is a command from God to. The verse she used was Genesis 1:28a. "Be fuitful and multiply and fill the earth." God is talking to Adam and Eve here right after He created them. Now to me the reason He said this was because there was noone else on the earth so ofcourse Adam and Eve being the only ones there they would have to multiply. Now the only other time God says this to someone is Noah and his family after the Flood. Genesis 9:1 "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth." God says it in the same way! He just wiped everyone out with the flood so there was noone else. God doesn't just say Be fruitful and multiply, He always says "Be fruitful and multiply, and FILL THE EARTH." so the only reason God says this is when there is noone else on the Earth and He needs them to fill it. Well if this were to apply to us then He is saying Be fruitful and fill the earth, but the earth is full already. Also nowhere is this mentioned in any of the Hebrew laws or anywhere else in the bible. So you think if it were a command to EVERYONE then it would be mentioned throughout the bible. So my view is that you are not required to have children if you get married. Children are wonderful don't get me wrong, I love them! but I do not feel it is a command from God to reproduce. so tell me what you think.

Huh!

ok so someone at work told me about this site and I decided to try it, I have myspace but sometimes that just gets too involved with other stuff. I really am not sure what to write. I wasn't sure what to name my blog page either. I love so many different things I couldn't just pick like crocheting, knitting, reading, or more importantly Jesus, so I think anything and everything was going to be the most appropriate, and then I can include all those things in my blog page. ok I am pretty excited about this, and now I have to go think of what I want my first topic to be!!
