update to the last post
ok so I found another spot that says Be fruitful and Multiply. Genesis 35:11. This is when God changes Jacob's name to Israel. "God also said to him, 'I am God Almighty; Be fruitful and multiply...'" I didn't know about that one. it also does not say fill the earth. However I think God was still specifically talking to Israel although I am not positive I will have to search more. There are times when God is intending something specifically for Israel. We can get great teaching from the Old Testament but have to be careful and remember what is meant for Israel and what is meant for all. Which is why I focus more on the New Testament because Jesus specifically told us what to do, and the laws continued over from the Old Testament to the New Testament are meant for us. So I think if this were really meant to be in the New Covenant it would have been mentioned in the New Testament. but again remember this is my very slightly educated guess and I have to research more to decide for sure. :)

Ok, well I understand the points of filling the earth. Ok but I what I don't understand is I thought that the only part of the Old Testament that we are not under is the law. I thought we was still to abide by God's commands. There is a lot of stuff I don't know know, when it comes to Old and New Testament. I will do some more research on this subject as well. I still believe that God commands us to multiply a Godly legacy.
Just my 2 cents worth ... we can leave a godly legacy without actually rearing children. Look at the legacy Paul left. Phoebe likely was single as well. There are loads of single people out there leaving godly legacies. Why should married people be obligated to have children? It would seem if we said married people MUST have children, we quickly would follow by saying believers MUST marry. Your thoughts? :O)
That would make sense. If we are commanded to multiply then we have to assume we are commanded to get married, but Paul even said in the New Testament that not everyone is meant to get married. Thanks for the comments!!
